During testing of the hydronic (water based temperature transfer) heating system the following results have been attained:
The mortality has been reduced to about 2.5%. The birds have experienced an additional weight gain of approximately 7%. Neither of these percentiles appears to be significant, however when weighted with the overall flock, both numbers become very significant. The client has experienced a mortality rate about average with the other poultry growers in this area, producing for a specific integrator, at a rate of about 7.5%. The average weight of the birds produced by the client is the same as the other integrator growers – 5.7 pounds per bird. The average stocking rate at this farm is about 23,500 birds per house. This stocking rate is down from four years ago when the average rate was 25,500 birds.
